You didn't get here by accident. But what got you here won't take you further.

I was 20 years old when a prison guard looked at me and said, "You are a good kid from a great area. You are flushing your life down the toilet."

He was right.

I was a heroin addict. I had been in jail before. This time was prison. Thirteen months.

People ask me what the hardest part was. The withdrawals. The loneliness. The fights. The riots. All of it was real. But the hardest moment was seeing my mom for the first time, me in a yellow jumpsuit. The pride she used to look at me with was gone. Concern had taken its place.

I walked out in 2011 certain of two things. I would change my life. And I would help other people change theirs.

Executive Coach and Associate Partner with Novus Global, and Faculty at The MetaPerformance Institute for Coaching, I am doing both.

What I actually do

I coach with Novus Global and teach as faculty at the Meta Performance Institute. Our work operates at three levels. Identity. Language. Behavior. The tools come from ontological coaching, the Three Laws of Performance, and the MetaPerformance framework. > > Most coaching optimizes the version of you that got here. That isn’t what this is. The work we do changes the person running the strategy, not just the strategy itself. It’s for leaders who have already succeeded and know the next level isn’t a skill gap.
